Our Curriculum Headlines
Maths
Children will use mental and written methods, as well as calculators and ICT, such as spreadsheets. They will work on problems linked to other subjects, and also to everyday life.
The focus is on developing mathematical fluency, mathematical reasoning and problem-solving
English
The main aim of the English curriculum is to promote high standards of language and literacy by equipping pupils with a strong command of the spoken and written word, and to develop their love of literature through reading for enjoyment across a wide range of styles and genres.
There are four separate curriculum areas in English:

Springboard Science
Students will develop scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through the specific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics.
Develop understanding of the nature, processes and methods of science through different types of science enquiries that help them to answer scientific questions about the world around them
are equipped with the scientific knowledge required to understand the uses and implications of science, today and for the future.
Physical Education
The national curriculum for physical education aims to ensure that all pupils:
develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities
are physically active for sustained periods of time
engage in competitive sports and activities
lead healthy, active lives
Personal Development
We have a comprehensive programme of study designed to cover economic wellbeing, careers and enterprise education, and education for personal safety, including assessing and managing risk. This is regularly reviewed and adapted to local, national and global developments.
Computing and ICT
The curriculum helps students to learn relevant computer skills that can be applied in a practical context. This qualification assesses a variety of skills, varying from your ability to use Microsoft Office effectively to accessing the internet whilst staying safe and secure.
